Hi there. My name is William and I want to be real
with you for a minute. A few years back, I was on
top of the world, or so I thought. I had graduated from college and I was working on launching my own startup,
but it all fell apart. My dream and my vision on
how I could change the world was squashed. I was
miserable.
Sitting in my parent’s house I decided to be
honest with myself. I asked myself one
simple question. I asked myself, "why did I fail?" I
proceeded to write for three hours. In the hustle
and bustle of starting something from
scratch, the issues weren’t clear. If something
didn’t work I would just work harder, sleep less, try
different things. The problem is, I wasn’t addressing the root
cause of my inevitable failure, but I didn’t
recognize it. In hindsight, the root cause was
simple and avoidable.
From that moment forward, I knew I had to help
others avoid making the same mistakes. It was in
this time of reflection that Startup Slingshot
was born. It was born out of the recognition
that you should never stop asking hard questions,
you can never have too many people bought in to
you and your vision, and you can never stop
learning. In the process of helping others through Startup Slingshot,
countless opportunities have presented themselves
that are well beyond anything I could have ever imagined. As it turns out, serving as a hunter of entrepreneurial excellence and
helping others change the world, I was not only
able to overcome my setback, but I was
able to slingshot my career well beyond what most
people my age think is possible. The road hasn’t
been easy, but it has been rewarding. I look
forward to traveling on it with you on your path to success.
