About Shane Cortesi
Shane Cortesi is not only a lawyer but an entrepreneur himself, having started his own law practice. Shane is the owner of The Law Office of Shane V. Cortesi, where he advises clients on issues related to patent, copyright, and trademark protection and company formation (e.g., organization of limited liability companies). Prior to starting his own law firm, Shane wrote and prosecuted patents at Waddey & Patterson, P.C. Before moving to Nashville, Shane was an Associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in New York, New York, where he represented leading companies in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. In addition to a law degree, Shane holds a B.A. in Zoology from Miami University and a M.S. in Biotechnology from Northwestern University. Shane is a mentor at the Entrepreneur Center in Nashville, where he advises entrepreneurs and start-up companies on intellectual property issues, and is actively involved in the community through Junior Achievement, Young Leader’s Council, and Second Harvest Food Bank.
